How to highlight a title on Sitemap node when NOT on it's URL

Ok, we have a sitemap that has a url and a text for each node. When you click that button, the title (text) highlights. Thats all great but when you click on a link from that page, we want to keep the title of that node highlit. Currently the highlighting goes away when you click away from the URL that is listed in the sitemap.
