Add Bookmarks with Named Destination & Copying VBA Project b/t Excel Files using .NET

What is new in this release?

We are pleased to announce the new release of Aspose.Cells for .NET 17.9.0 . This release includes some valuable features and other enhancements along with critical bug fixes that further improve the overall stability of the APIs. Aspose.Cells supports to specify Named Destinations in the output PDF file that do not depend on PDF pages. It means, if pages are added or deleted from PDF, bookmarks may become invalid but named destinations will remain intact. Please see the document/article (with attachments) that explains on how to add PDF Bookmarks with Named Destinations for users complete reference. If an Excel file contains external resources (linked images or objects), so, when users convert an Excel file to Pdf, Aspose.Cells retrieves these external resources and renders them to Pdf file format. Now, if users do not want to load these external resources rather you want to manipulate them, users can do this using PdfSaveOptions.StreamProvider API which implements the IStreamProvider interface. Aspose.Cells allows developers to copy VBA project from one Excel file into other. VBA project consists of various types of modules i.e. Document, Procedural, Designer etc. All modules can be copied with simple code but for Designer module, there is some extra data called Designer Storage needs to be accessed or copied. Aspose.Cells provides Shape.ToFrontOrBack()method which changes the z-order position of the shape. If users want to send shape to back you will use negative number like -1, -2, -3 etc. and if users want to send shape to front, will use positive number like 1, 2, 3 etc. Developers can sort data in the column using custom list. GridWeb displays comments as Tooltips like MS-Excel does when users hover mouse over the respective cell. The web based grid control provided by Aspose.Cells for .NET allows creating, removing and getting cell comments inside the worksheet. There are some other enhancements included in this release, such as Determining which stack size is needed for a certain Workbook, Exception: “Too many entries. Consider setting ZipOutputStream.Enable Zip64” on merging the file(s), When RecommendReadOnly is true, IsWriteProtected is also true, Handled NullReferenceException when reading XLSX using LoadFilter containing Pivot Table, Handled “Input string was not in a correct format” exception on opening MS Excel file. In this release, Aspose team has fixed several other issues. For example, issues around reading/writing MS Excel file formats, Smart Markers, manipulating ranges, inserting rows and columns, rendering shapes and drawing objects, manipulating OLE Objects, rendering and manipulating charts, manipulating PivotTables, rendering images from Excel worksheets, rendering images files from charts and exporting Excel workbooks to PDF format have been resolved. The new version 17.11 of the API has been released with the support of importing PDMS RVM files and developers can export these RVM files to the supported file formats. Developers can merge all Meshes of the Scene, a Node and a set of nodes as well as get or set the transparency of the PBR material (only supported for GLTF). We have fixed a defect of exporting incorrect material opacity With the help of Aspose.3D for .NET API, developers can convert RVM file to all supported formats. The RVM file stores 3D power plant project. Developers can import RVM models into the Aspose.3D for .NET API with the constructor or Open member of the Scene class as narrated in documentation help topic: Import a 3D model and Use RVM load options. With the recent version 17.11 of Aspose.3D for .NET API, developers can merge Meshes to a single transformed Mesh. In order to achieve this, three MergeMesh members are added to the PolygonModifier class. Developers can also control the transparency of PBR material. Aspose.3D for .NET API supports PBR material for only GLTF 2.0, so this improvement will affect the GLTF 2.0 export. This release includes plenty of new features as listed below

    - Add support of importing RVM-binary
    - Add support of merging meshes
    - FBX to GLTF - incorrect material opacity in GLTF

Convert DICOM Image to PDF & Setting Print Dialog Presets Properties inside .NET Apps

    What’s new in this release?

The latest version of Aspose.Pdf for .NET (17.10.0) has been released. Digital Imaging and Communications in Medicine (DICOM) is a standard for storing and transmitting medical images enabling the integration of medical imaging devices such as scanners, servers, workstations, printers etc. Aspose.Pdf for .NET is capable of converting various image formats to PDF and other supported formats. Recently Aspose team has received a requirement to convert DICOM images to PDF format, so in order to cater this scenario, Aspose team is pleased to announce the support of this format. Recently one of the customers shared a requirement to change DuplexMode property to duplex of Print Dialog Presets(In Adobe Acrobat choose File > Properties -> Advanced tab). Whereas in the Print Dialog (Presets section) of PDF document, the default value is set to simplex. Users can set Duplex property of PrinterSettings object while printing through PdfViewer class but the API lacked the feature to set PDF document property. Therefore in order to accomplish this requirement, support is provided in API and following code snippet can be used. In legacy Aspose.Pdf.Generator, we had a VerticalAlign property on row objects and in order to provide similar feature in new Document Object Model of Aspose.Pdf namespace, it has added similar property for Aspose.Pdf.Row instance. Apart from above mentioned improvements, the API is improved to generate better results for PDF to SVG or SVG to PDF conversion and it has also been improved to accept password in foreign language when encrypting or decrypting PDF files. The PDF to PDF/A compliance conversion is improved to cater more scenarios and for other inter file format conversion scenarios, there has been significant efforts towards the stability of PDF to HTML conversion feature. The list of important new and improved features are given below

    - Support DICOM image to PDF
    - To set Print Dialog Presets properties of a PDF document
    - Support Vertical Alignment property for Row instance
    - Add image inside PDF - Output is different as compared to old Generator
    - PDF to SVG content gets shrinked
    - PDF to SVG: incorrect Character spacing
    - API does not accept password in foreign language
    - Using CallBackGetHocr results with blank image
    - SVG to PDF: incorrect output with errors
    - PDF to PDFA1b conformance issue
    - PDF to Image: image is not being rendered properly
    - Text not getting displayed in browser when saving PDF document to HTML
    - PDF to HTML - space between text increased
    - Incorrect position of parenthesis when saving as HTML
    - PDF to HTML: hidden characters are visible
    - PDF to HTML: chart lines are darker
    - Text Replace - Underline property does not work in text replace functional

Create/Protect Shared Workbook, Determine Smart Art Shape & Convert It to Group Shape

What is new in this release?

We are pleased to announce the new release of Aspose.Cells for .NET 17.11.0 . Smart Art shapes are special shapes that allow users create complex diagrams automatically. Aspose.Cells allows users to detect Smart Art shapes and convert them to Group shape. Users can find if the shape is smart art shape or normal shape using Shape.IsSmartArt property. Users can also convert Smart Art Shape into Group Shape using the Shape.GetResultOfSmartArt() method. It will enable users to handle smart art shape like a group shape. Consequently, users will have access to the individual parts or shapes of the group shape. The sample code on blog announcement page loads a template file containing a smart art shape. It then converts the determine the smart art shape and convert into group shape. Microsoft Excel allows users to create a shared workbook. When users share the workbook, then more than one user can edit the workbook. Aspose.Cells enables users to create a shared workbook with Workbook.Settings.Shared property. Users can protect or unprotect a shared workbook.Aspose.Cells allows users to find the root element name of XML map using XmlMap.RootElementName property. Users can ignore all errors during the conversion process using the PdfSaveOptions.IgnoreError property. This way, conversion process will be completed smoothly without throwing any error or exception but data loss may occur.Users can query cell areas mapped to xml map path with Aspose.Cells using the Worksheet.XmlMapQuery() method. If the path exists, it will return the list of cell areas related to that path inside xml map. Aspose.Cells allows users to render sequence of pages of an Excel file to images using ImageOrPrintOptions.PageIndex and ImageOrPrintOptions.PageCount properties.
