Please could admins update the forum to use CKEditor version 3.6.5?
The current version of CKEDitor contains a serious bug that prevents use with some web browsers.
I received the attached report from Microsoft.

Many thanks,
Rob

This notification was generated for feedback item: <a href="http://connect.microsoft.com/IE/fee...8-desktop-problem-using-forum-wysiwyg-editors">IE 10.0.1 under Windows 8 Desktop - Problem using forum WYSIWYG editors</a> which you submitted at the <a href="http://connect.microsoft.com">Microsoft Connect</a> site.

Thank you for your feedback.

We are currently able to reproduce this issue as described.

After additional review of the repro we discovered an issue that was bugged at ckeditor.com.
Please review bug
Enter key not working with IE 10 on CKEditor 3.6.2 version
<#9741 (Enter key not working with IE 10 on CKEditor 3.6.2 version) – CKEditor>

According to this bug the issue was resolved in CKEditor 3.6.5.
I was able to reproduce the script error outlined in this bug when visiting
<http://www.vbdotnetforums.com/newreply.php?do=newreply&p=155960> that error was:
SCRIPT438: Object doesn't support property or method 'toLowercase'
iframe, line 4 character 1 <0>

We looked at the ckeditor.js hosted on vbdotnetforums.com and it is using the 3.6.2 version listed in the CKBug 9741

This is the direct link to the script file that we reviewed.
<http://www.vbdotnetforums.com/clientscript/ckeditor/ckeditor.js?t=A7HG4HT&v=420>

We took the version from the first line in this script which was:
(function(){if(window.CKEDITOR&&window.CKEDITOR.dom)return;if(!window.CKEDITOR)window.CKEDITOR=(function(){var e={timestamp:'B8DJ5M3',version:'3.6.2',revision:'7275',_:

We tested the demo hosted at <CKEditor demo | CKEditor.com> and the enter key does work with IE 10 in Standards mode.

Recommended solution from the CKEditor bug 9741 states upgrading to 3.6.5 or version 4 will resolve this issue.

Thank you for reporting this issue we welcome additional feedback. We will keep this connect issue open for 2 weeks before closing it to allow time for you to respond.

CKEditor is an integrated part of vBulletin, of which we're running lastest release. It may be possible to upgrade this part only, but Neal will have to answer to that since he administer the thing.

I am sure vBulletin will want to fix this, now that the fault has been diagnosed and confirmed by Microsoft. Maybe Neal can call them about it?

vBulletin is aware, it's discussed on their forums. We'll just have to wait and see. They are deep into beta testing v5 so I'll be surprised but hopefully for a v4 fix.
