Question How to create a scheduling/ appointment like the gannts chart

I want to create an appointment system with a visual interface like the Gannts chart. I want to be able to create an appointment by going to the chart, clicking on the date /time cell and visually dragging the cursor to book the higlighted slot. see GuestMaster Hotel Reservation Software System

Do i need a third party component or ican use ms project or some component within VB.net in order to achieve the same functionality a we have in the room chart of the guestmaster PMS?
