MS Visual Studio 2010 Installation help

Hi guys. I'm trying to install MS Visual Studio 2010 ultimate on a windows 7 x86 machine, and I'm having some problems...the setup just quit on me and says that it failed to install vc 9.0 runtime....

this is despite the fact that I don't have vc9.0 installed on my computer....can someone help me with this? nor do I have any .NET related files preinstalled on my computer

I'm having the exact same issue as the poster. Is anyone able to advise? It's quite frustrating, the installer just seems to bottle out. No error warning -- nothing.

I dont know if related but running Windows 7 Profesional 64 bit with a installation problem and found that Java wasnt working in Local user and took ages to try and install so made Administrator Account and installed without any problems. Sorry dont recall any error messages.Hope thats worth a look at.
