publish an asp.net page

I have never published a asp.net page to a site before. I have personal webspace that is provided by my high speed internet company. I must have a index.html page that is used as the home page for my site. How do I make this work?

Can I even do it like this, or do I need to host the site directly from my computer using IIS?

If I need to use IIS how do I set it up so that others can view my site?

Lots of questions, but I know you guys can answer them for me.

Most ISPs don't offer hosting of ASP.NET apps. If they say you must have an index.html page then most likely they don't offer that service either.
