Since I added a proxy server in local network I can no longer use local help (Help Viewer 1.1), viewer content will only show an error page coming from my proxy. The local help urls are 127.0.0.1 ones. Computer internet settings are set to use a wpad.dat configuration file (that also exclude local addresses).
HlpViewer.exe.config (in folder C:\Program Files\Microsoft Help Viewer\v1.0) can be configured for proxy settings in <system.net> element, but all my attempts at defaultProxy/Proxy/bypasslist elements to avoid using the proxy have no effect. The only indication I've had that Help Viewer actually use this file is when I add something wrong Help Viewer crashes on startup. I also tried disabling proxy in HelpLibAgent.exe.config, HelpLibManager.exe.config and any other configuration file in same folder.
Anyone knows how to force Help Viewer to not use proxy?
