I have been writing an application that will dial out to a remote device using a modem attached to the PC. I have had no problems using an external modem and using the serial port control to handle the data transfers. The problem I'm having is that i cannot open the com port associated with an internal modem using the same method as above. It seems to be a bit hit and miss, some modems will work ok but others wont open at all. Is there another control that i can use for communicating with a modem? I had a look at the TAPI control but it seemed to indicate (to me anyway...) that it was more to do with voice stuff (i dunno whether this is true...). I have even tried a com port controller .dll written by a private company, but it has problems too.
If anyone has anything to offer, it'd be much appreciated
