I have searched high and low for a book which takes off where beginner books end.

I know VB.NET but I have never worked with ADO.NET. Every book I have found has 6 to 9 chapters of useless junk on variables, string manipulation, arrays, etc and only 1 or 2 very brief chapters on ADO.

I’m a current student (Com Sci) and I am trying my darndest to work my way up to becoming a successful database programmer. I have worked with PHP/MySQL and MS Access. I have a fully functional statistics database (developed with Access) and I want to convert the front end to VB.NET.

My goals
Convert front end to VB.Net using ADO library
After learning ADO (1 year), convert backend to MS SQLServer.

Desired book.
Database programming with ADO.net specifically for MS Access. Something that does not contribute the first half of the book for learning syntax lol. I would love to find something that also offers a few chapters on Crystal Reports.

Thank you Arg81 :). I purchased a used copy on Amazon today! I like what I see in the reviews. Any other book suggestions?
